Milo Hsieh (謝和軒) is the Founder of Safe Spaces. He is a policy professional with years of expertise on Taiwan politics, U.S-Taiwan relations, and political risks analysis. He was formerly a freelance journalist, with articles published in media and think tanks such as BBC, Globe and Mail, University of Nottingham’s Taiwan Insight, and Global Taiwan Institute. His work has been cited in research reports by the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Taiwan Institute for National Defense and Security Research (INDSR), and George Mason University’s Mercatus Center. He has a B.A. in international studies from American University.  

Azim Butt (洪偉) is an Associate Policy Director at Safe Spaces, focusing on politics and society in East Asia. He has extensive experience and knowledge of political organizations in Taiwan. Azim frequently comments on current affairs, and his articles have appeared on various platforms, such as the National Interest. He has a B.A. cum laude in International Studies from Leiden University, the Netherlands. Azim’s current work focuses on civil society organizations in Taiwan and how Taiwan should approach its regulations on digital platforms. 

Him-Tsu Iunn (楊欣慈) is an Associate Strategy Director at Safe Spaces. She has an MSc in International Social Policy from the University of Sheffield. She has championed Taiwan's democratic processes and fought against its exclusion from international forums. As a youth representative for the Taiwan United Nations Alliance, Him-Tsu lobbied the US Congress for Taiwan's UN and WHO inclusion. She co-founded the Here I Stand Project, promoting Taiwan's citizen diplomacy, and has been instrumental in organizing democratic education youth camps in Taiwan. Currently, she serves as a YouthLead for the Community of Democracies, advocating for democracy on Taiwan's behalf. 

Rath Wang (王健智) is an International Policy Director at Safe Spaces, focusing on politics, finance, security, and culture in East and Southeast Asia, the U.S. and other Western democracies. He has experience in the finance, supply chain, media, public policy, political strategy and organizing fields. Rath earned a B.A. in international relations and finance from Waseda University, Japan. He is also a producer and host of political talk shows and podcasts and has worked on various political campaigns and advocacies in Taiwan, the U.S., Japan and Thailand. Rath is also a regular contributor of analyses related to current affairs and global diplomacy. He was formerly a capital markets trader and financial analyst for over a decade. 

Tatiana Van den Haute (高怡婷) is a Policy Analyst at Safe Spaces. She specialises in Europe-Asia relations as well as Middle Eastern affairs, and graduated from Sciences Po Paris where she focused on Political Humanities and minored in International Law.  She regularly contributes to various media such as The News Lens and Commonwealth Taiwan, and has commented on current affairs in local media.

Ian Huang (黃念雲) is a Policy Analyst at Safe Spaces focused on cross-strait relations with China. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Shih Hsin University and has extensive experience in reporting and social media management.

Fiona Lin (林子媺) is a Policy Analyst at Safe Spaces. She is interested in the impact of media forms on idea formation and awareness. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and Art, magna cum laude, from New York University Abu Dhabi.  

Thomas Liu (劉奕宏) is a Policy Analyst at Safe Spaces. He has extensive experience working as a campaign, legislative, and party staff at a major political party in Taiwan. He has a B.A. in Political Science from National Cheng Kung University and is currently studying in the Graduate Institute of East Asian Studies at National Cheng Chi University. 

Chia-Chen Kuo (郭佳臻) is a Policy Analyst at Safe Spaces. She holds both a B.A. and an M.A. in Political Science from National Taiwan University. During her time at NTU, she worked as a research assistant on multiple projects, developing her expertise in Taiwan’s political landscape and gender studies. She has also gained practical experience as a campaign staff member and interned at a Legislative Office.  

Sherry Chen (陳采妤) graduated from Chung Yuan University with a degree in International Business, and has since gained hands-on experience in accounting and administrative domains. Passionate about streamlining company processes, she has dedicated my career to enhancing operational efficiencies and driving business growth through innovative strategies and a keen understanding of organizational dynamics.
